Primary Responsibilities: Collection, analysis, preparation, and dissemination of intelligence related to criminal activity
Key Duties: Intelligence reporting, crime trend analysis, database management, court preparation, inter-agency liaison, Provincial Threat Assessment submission to Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario
Reporting Structure: Integrated Crime Section Staff Sergeant and Intelligence Sergeant
Required Education: Post-secondary degree in Social Science, Geography, Criminology, Statistics, or equivalent
Required Experience: Two to three years of crime analysis experience in a policing environment or related field
Technical Requirements: Proficiency in IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, Niche RMS, PIP, CPIC, ACIIS, MTO, Ontario Sex Offender Registry, GangNet, Traffic Jam, Major Case Management systems
Specialized Knowledge: Organized crime, illicit drug distribution, human trafficking, violent crime dynamics, Transmission Data Recorders (TDR), Part VI interceptions, open source intelligence collection
Court Involvement: Preparation of materials for court proceedings and testimony as required
Security Requirements: Maintenance of confidentiality, data integrity, and compliance with Records Retention Schedule
