Course Description: GGS 311 is an introductory course in Geographic Information Systems. Topics include data structures, geodesy, spatial data analyses, and cartographic modeling.
Course Goals: To spark curiosity about GIS and its applications in solving problems.
Learning Outcomes: Students will develop proficiency in GIS, remote sensing, spatial analysis, and cartographic design.
Required Materials: GIS Fundamentals by Paul Bolstad, 6th Edition
Grading: Based on labs, quizzes, in-class activities, and exams.
Lab Assignments: 13 labs throughout the semester, with the final lab being mandatory.
