Overall Purpose:
To assist with archaeological field projects of all scales and complexities and supervise excavation when required
Qualifications Required:
Degree level education in a relevant professional area
Professional Membership:
Associate, Practitioner or Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (desirable)
Knowledge Requirements:
Archaeological investigation and recording techniques; Health & Safety legislation; archaeology of prehistoric and historic Britain; IT applications in archaeology; geophysical survey
Experience Requirements:
Fieldwork in commercial organisations; archaeological investigation and recording; report writing; supervision of others; geophysical surveys
Key Activities:
Supervision of excavation teams; geophysical survey work including GPS grid establishment and CAD interpretation; recording of plans and sections; maintenance of site equipment
Responsibility for Resources:
Supervision of employees; shared financial responsibility; responsibility for excavation equipment
External Contacts:
