Course Description: Overview of emergencies, disasters, and catastrophes from social, political, historical, policy, environmental, international, and cross-cultural perspectives
Course Purpose: Examination of hazard events in the United States and their management over time
Course Goals: Familiarity with emergency management principles, critical thinking, research skills, understanding of hazard mitigation and stakeholder roles
Course Objectives: Distinguish hazard types, analyze human interaction with hazards, describe preparedness and recovery processes
